Signs of the Promised Mahdi
A hadith in Sunan al-Daraqutni says that for the Mahdi the moon would be eclipsed on the first of the nights a lunar eclipse can fall in Ramadan (the 13th), and the sun on the middle of the days a solar eclipse can fall (the 28th). In 1311 AH / 1894 CE both occurred over Qadian after Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad(as) had claimed to be the Promised Messiah and Mahdi. A second pair followed in 1312 AH / 1895.
